GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – One person is injured after a fire in a 2-unit house east of downtown Green Bay Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to house, located in the 1100 block of East Walnut Street, just before 4 p.m.
They were greeted by heavy smoke coming from the structure’s rear unit.
Crews brought the fire under control in about 10 minutes.
They also pulled a person from the unit, and took them to an area hospital, with what crews say are “significant” injuries.
Firefighters say the blaze started in the living room, but the cause is being investigated.
It’s believed to have caused an estimated $30,000 in damage.
