FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One of the people charged in connection with a murder pleaded not guilty Friday.
Denell Logan and his girlfriend, Callie Bender, are charged in connection with the Feb. 5 death of David Posey. Posey was found with a gunshot wound to his leg after he crashed his car in Fond du Lac. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.
Bender waived a preliminary hearing and entered the not guilty plea. No next court date listed on court records. She faces two counts of straw purchasing of a firearm and aiding a felon.
Logan’s preliminary hearing will be continued on March 26, court records show.
Prosecutors allege Posey went to Logan’s house to buy crack cocaine. While there, Bender told police Posey began to punch Logan and tried to rob them. Logan allegedly shot Posey with a gun Bender bought for him. Posey drove off and crashed his vehicle a few blocks away, the criminal complaint says.
