GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay Police are looking for your help.
Police and school officials are trying to find about ten more crossing guards to help students get to and from school safely.
“We’re hoving around ten or so crossing guards that we need,” Police Commander Kevin Warych told WTAQ.
There are about 46 intersections in the city that require crossing guards in the mornings and afternoons. Warych says those intersections, right now, are staffed either primarily by crossing guards, but where guards aren’t available, department interns or police officers are used.
“When we ask people to sign up to be crossing guard, you could be one of 46 people to make a difference in these children’s lives,” said Warych.
To apply, you can contact Cross Safe, the school’s crossing vendor, or check out the Green Bay Police Department’s Facebook page.
