GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Valentine’s Day is almost here, and local flower shops are working overtime to make sure every romantic can get the perfect bouquets.
For the people at Flowerama in Green Bay, this week tends to be one of the busiest times of the year.
“We’ve been pretty busy, which is good because it keeps us on our toes and keeps us moving. We’ve had a lot of customers, had a lot of deliveries. We’ve definitely had our hands full. It’s been awesome,” said Marquette, a floral designer at Flowerama. “You can come in anytime. Usually our range for deliveries would be 8 to 3, but because of the busier holiday, we’ll go a little later. If you are procrastinating, you could still call or come into the shop and put in an order.”
Even if you’re a procrastinator, there will still be plenty available even if you wait until the last possible minute to place an order.
“We have a ton of stuff available. We are even working on more stuff as we speak, so there will be plenty for anybody who comes into the shop,” Marquette told WTAQ News. “If you wanted to do it over the phone, if you wanted to just come to the shop and see what we have to offer, there’s plenty of options to choose from.”
Despite the recent cold spell, deliveries have been going well for Flowerama drivers. The store also takes certain precautions to ensure that their designs survive until the big day.
“We do have the proper procedures necessary to make sure that everybody gets their flowers safely,” Marquette said. “We put bags around the flowers to make sure that they don’t freeze. If somebody’s not home, then obviously we don’t leave them out there because obviously they would freeze and die.”
