APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Appleton is getting some help from area nursing students.
Fox Valley Technical College students on Tuesday began assisting with vaccination efforts at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center.
“There is a great excitement among the nursing students in helping the community,” FVTC Nursing Department Chair Barbara Timmons said in a news release. “They know this is a unique time for them to help the community and be part of the solution to help combat COVID-19.”
Up to 170 students will works shifts at the clinic over the next four months. Students will give vaccinations and assist with screening, according to the release.
This month, students in their second and third semester in the college’s nursing associate degree program will assist at the clinic. Students in the practical nursing program will also assist later this spring.
Training is required for participating students and faculty.
