APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – The Oshkosh teen accused of fatally shooting a man at the Fox River Mall is scheduled to appear in Outagamie County court for the first time this afternoon.
The appearance was originally scheduled for this morning, but was rescheduled for 3:30 p.m. because of technical difficulties.
Dezman Ellis, 17, was arrested Thursday in Iowa. He waived extradition and was booked into the Outagamie County Jail the next day.
Ellis has been formally charged with killing 19-year-old Jovanni Frausto at the mall in Grand Chute on January 31st. A bystander was also injured in the shooting.
Prosecutors allege Ellis was at the mall with his girlfriend, who used to date Frausto. A chance encounter between the two groups escalated into an argument which led to the shooting.
