MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers says he intends to veto the Republican-led COVID-19 relief bill passed by the State Senate on Friday.
Assembly Bill 1 is the bill worked on by Assembly Republicans that departed from the bill originally passed in the Senate that included aspects of Governor Evers’ so-called compromise legislation the Governor had put forward in December.
The Republican bill bars employers from being allowed to mandate their employees receive the COVID-19 vaccine and also forbids state and local governments from shutting down churches as part of pandemic procedures.
