GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — It’s going to snow, and then it’s going to get really cold over the next few days.
Temperatures are expected in the low single digits with a high of just 2 expected on Sunday. Wind chill is going to make that feel closer to -27.
Brown County Emergency Management Director Lauri Maki says those kinds of temperatures can get dangerous fast.
“When it’s that cold, if you don’t have to be outside, it’s better to stay warm and stay indoors,” Maki said.
If you do have to go out, however, it’s important to bundle up.
“Wear appropriate layers, monitor how you feel, and drink plenty of water,” Maki told WTAQ. “It’s really easy to get dehydrated at those temperatures.”
Maki also stresses the importance of keeping an emergency kit in your car stocked with supplies like blankets, a spare cell phone battery, along with food and water.
Snow is expected to begin falling Thursday.
