BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — While the Green Bay Packers’ post-season has brought much needed excitement to Titletown, officials are asking fans to still keep COVID-19 safety precautions in mind.
With Lambeau Field set to host the NFC Championship game Sunday, the second football game in the past two weeks, it has become a hot spot for gathering.
In a video posted to Facebook, Green Bay Police Commander Kevin Warych and Brown County Tavern League president Don Mjelde, team up to spread the message of safety.
Warych said after last week’s NFC divisional playoff game, police saw social media posts of people not wearing masks and not socially distancing.
He’s hoping to see more compliance with the guidelines this Sunday.
In addition, Mjelde asks all bar owners and employees to refresh themselves on COVID-19 guidelines and encourage patrons to follow them.
They end the message by asking everyone that if they plan on consuming alcohol, to rely on a sober driver to get home. If you don’t have one, you can always use the Tavern League’s SafeRide program.
