GREEN BAY (WLUK) — Green Bay police are asking the community to help those in need by contributing to a food drive.
The department announced Friday it will host the drive in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and in support of those impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“The members of the Green Bay Police Department are proud to protect and serve to help keep Green Bay the “Safest City in the US“, Green Bay Police Chief Andrew Smith said in a news release. “We will always work with our community partners to address the systemic problems that many of our friends and neighbors face every day, especially in these challenging times.”
The department says drop boxes for non-perishable food and household supplies will be in its lobby through Monday.
Monetary donations can also be made at the Howe Community Resource Center or on its website.
