The DNR is again doing creek reports.
Here is what this week’s report looks like from the west shore of Green Bay.
MARINETTE COUNTY
- Menominee River: Menominee River had several anglers at Six Street and by Mystery Ship boat launches. Northern pike, bluegills, crappie, and perch were all being caught by Mystery Ship. During the week was better fishing as anglers reported doing well for all species with not as much luck over the weekend. The weekend was rather crowded with the entire slough being fished. Open water fishing was still available below the dam on both sides. Ice could be seen along the shore below Hattie St. narrowing the channel.
- Red Arrow: Red Arrow had a few anglers over the weekend fishing perch and northern pike. Most were not far from the boat launch. No fish were reported caught.
- Peshtigo River: Peshtigo River mouth had skim ice across the main river starting around the boat launch area. Piles of ice and open water could be seen in the bay.
OCONTO COUNTY
- Oconto Parks: Oconto Park II had steady activity over the weekend with only a few perch reported. Out of a handful of reports only 2 perch were kept. Fishing was said to be better the week before with this past week being slow.
- Oconto Harbor: Oconto Harbor had activity along the breakwater on the bayside and near the city docks. A few whitefish were caught towards the end of the breakwater pier. Ice was reported at 3 inches at the end of the pier with 6 to 7 towards shore. Open water could be seen not far out from the end of the pier. Anglers were having luck with northern pike by the city docks with less action on the bay.
- Geano’s Beach: Geano’s Beach had open water and piles of ice out from shore with around 100 yards of ice near shore. There were signs of fishing activity around the boat launch and the channel leading to the bay.
BROWN COUNTY
- Hook Rd: Hook Rd. had many anglers walking out. No atv’s or snowmobiles were seen on the ice. No reports from the day but anglers said some perch were caught mid-week.
- Suamico: Suamico had no activity. One individual reported to have broken through with 2 hits from his ice spud and decided it wasn’t thick enough for him.
- Long Tail Pt: Longtail had a few anglers at Harbor Lights Rd. and Lineville Rd. Two anglers at Lineville had 7 perch a piece along with 1 northern. Ice was reported around 3 to 4 inches several hundred yards from shore.
- Duck Creek: Duck Creek had several anglers fishing perch with some perch seen caught by those not in shacks. Two anglers fishing together caught their limit while throwing back as many as they kept. Keeper size perch were around 6-7 inches. Ice was reported at 5-inches by the landing.
- Fox River: Fox River had a few anglers on the ice at Voyageur Park and in the side channel. Pockets of open water could be seen toward the main channel.
