DE PERE, WI (WTAQ) — Several dozen Trump supporters will be boarding a bus tomorrow for a long long ride out to Washington DC.
They’re heading to the “Stop the Steal” rally on Wednesday, a rally by Trump supporters who believe the election was rife with fraud that benefited Joe Biden, whose electoral college win is set to be certified by congress on the same day as the rally.
“The bus leaves at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, and we sleep on the bus,” said Shannon Charles, one of the Trump supporters heading out on the bus leaving from De Pere on Tuesday. “Then we get there at 8 o’clock in the morning, and then we get back on the bus at 6 and drive straight back.”
The long haul is being organized by a group called NEW Patriots through Facebook. Those participating say it’s worth it.
“We feel like it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” Charles told WTAQ. “We can tell our children that we were there when we took back our country.”
The Trump campaign has so far failed in court to change the election results.
