ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Just like we’ve seen all of 2020, several events have been cancelled, and it’s no different for New Year’s celebrations for 2021. But, there are a couple events happening here in Green Bay where you can ring in the new year.
To put 2020 in a few words, “there’s just not much going on these days,” said Terry Charles, PMI Entertainment and Gamblers communications manager.
But, Charles tells FOX 11 the Gamblers New Year’s game is on. With the safety precautions everyone has been practicing all year long.
“If you’re comfortable being out here, you can be as distanced as you are in a big box store or a grocery store, masks are required, your temperature will be taken, we’ve taken a lot of steps.”
And, even with a year full of changes, the Gamblers are excited to spend the end of the year with one group.
“Those are things you wouldn’t have seen last year, we’re certainly hoping to see the fans that came last year and that would be the same,” said Charles.
But, if ringing in the New Year outdoors is more your style, Titletown has activities planned all day and night.
Mallory Steinberg, Program and Marketing Manager for Titletown, tells FOX 11….
“The festivities start at noon so skating and tubing from noon until midnight. 12 hours to get in on the fun on the ice around Ariens Hill. And we’ll have music starting at 6 p.m.”
To follow safety guidelines, the ice rink will be at limited capacity. Steinberg encourages you to grab you mask and, “come early because we do expect it to get very busy.”
And Titletown’s countdown “football launch” will be happening at the traditional midnight time. As well as 9 p.m. this year.
“There are opportunities for people to come early and flow through however they want,” said Steinberg, “and if you’re not comfortable coming into Titletown the great thing about the countdown is you can watch from Lambeau in lots 5 and 6.”
Sister Bay in Door County will also put on a fireworks show to celebrate the New Year.
