WAUTOMA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A two-day trial is now scheduled in the civil wrongful death lawsuit filed after a girl was killed by an oncoming vehicle while waiting to get on the bus.
Maryana Kranz was killed outside her Plainfield home Feb. 10 while waiting for the bus. A pickup truck, allegedly driven by Carl Mullenix, drove on the right side of the bus, hitting Maryana and her sister.
Mullenix faces one felony count of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle. No trial date has been set. He returns to court Feb. 2 for a status conference.
Separate from the criminal case, Kranz’s family filed a civil lawsuit. A May 10-11 trial was scheduled at a hearing Monday morning, court records show.
