GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Crews have stopped a water main leak on Green Bay’s west side Tuesday morning.
The Green Bay Water Utility says the city’s Department of Public Works was working on traffic lights at the intersection of W. Mason Street and 12th Avenue when a contractor struck the main around 9:15 a.m.
The leak from the 24-inch pipe lasted for about a half-hour. Water was filmed spraying high into the air, above the power lines.
The water utility says the water main did not break, but did sustain damage. No residents in the area were affected and no injuries were reported.
