PESHTIGO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A new Christmas event debuted in Peshtigo Saturday afternoon.
The Peshtigo Area Chamber of Commerce partnered with the city, Peshtigo Women’s Club, and school district for a ‘Community Christmas Celebration’.
Melissa Demoulin, the Vice President of the Peshtigo Area Chamber of Commerce, tells FOX 11 the idea was brainstormed so there was some sort of event in the area this holiday season.
“Just some kind of normalcy amid this crazy year that we’ve had.”
“We’re very happy with the results, especially of today seeing all the joy on the kids’ faces,” said Tony O’Neill, President of the Peshtigo Area Chamber of Commerce.
Winter clothes donations were collected for the Kid’s Closet program at the elementary school.
Donations toward a new kayak launch were also gathered.
