MADISON, WI (WSAU-WRN) — The Food and Drug Administration is asking consumers to throw out a brand of bagged salad.
A batch of Fresh Express salad mixes has been linked to an intestinal infection caused by a parasite. No deaths have been linked to the recall, but more than 200 people have lab-confirmed cases of the illness.
The salad kits were sold in stores like Wal-Mart and Aldi, which have locations throughout WI, and Hy Vee which has two locations in Madison. The mix was also sold at Jewel-Osco stores in Illinois.
All told 12 states have reported illnesses from the salads.
