MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The State’s Department of Health Services reported 5,095 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thanksgiving, pushing the statewide total to 374,537 since the pandemic began in March.
DHS also reported 62 deaths in those with the disease, bringing that metric to 3,240. The seven day average fell to 5,152 cases.
Meanwhile, the number of COVID-19 patients in the state’s hospital system stayed below 2,000 for another day at 1,892. That’s a decline of 94 from Wednesday. DHS considers 296,577 people to have recovered from COVID-19.
Over 8,600 negative tests were reported in the last 24 hours.
The alternate care facility at the State Fairgrounds in West Allis has nine patients.
