APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Appleton Downtown Inc. is making a difference this holiday season.
Monday, Christmas came a little early for Appleton police officers.
ADI presented the department with over 100 $25 gift certificates.
Each officer received a card that can be used at over 200 downtown businesses.
The executive director for Downtown Inc. hopes the certificates will encourage others to shop locally this holiday season.
“Here we are, we have 120, 25 dollar gift certificates to present. It’s a great way to launch their support for downtown through the 9-20 program, as well, and we’re hoping that they take the pledge also in helping keep downtown strong, as they have for years and years,” executive director Jennifer Stephany said.
The gift will generate $3,000 back to the local economy.
It was donated to Appleton Downtown Inc. by a very generous, anonymous donor.
