MILWAUKEE and MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Recount efforts in Milwaukee and Dane Counties are moving slowly as they enter day three of what is expected to be a lengthy process.
USA Today Wisconsin reports that in both Milwaukee and Dane Counties there have been few ballots invalidated but no shortage of challenges from Trump observers.
At times Trump observers at the Wisconsin Center in Milwaukee county have challenged absentee ballots for being folded- though they need to be folded to be sealed in the envelope, or for simply being absentee ballots.
As of mid-Saturday afternoon, just three ballots had been invalidated in Milwaukee county. Operations had been running a bit more smoothly in Dane County where USA Today Wisconsin reporter Laura Schulte says only the occasional objection has drawn attention.
The recount process is expected to last right up until the December 1st deadline. The process was paid for by the Trump camp in an effort to flip Wisconsin’s ten electoral votes into his column. That effort is seen as a longshot, as Biden won the state by about 21,000 votes according to canvassed numbers.
