JACKSONPORT, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Jacksonport Polar Bear Club announced Sunday their plunge into Lake Michigan scheduled for January 1, 2021, has been postponed.
The event that was set to be the 35th annual plunge will now be held Saturday, January 1, 2022.
The club says that organizers decided the event could not be held safely this year with the pandemic.
The plunge has been running since 1986 and attracts hundreds of swimmers and spectators to the beach at Lakeside park.
