MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — All coronavirus numbers, including new cases, percentage of positive tests and deaths all came in below seven-day averages on Monday.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 4,360 new cases, or 30.1% of the 14,077 total tests completed, along with 17 deaths.
Seven-day averages for cases rose to 5,639, while the average number of deaths was at 40. The seven-day average for test positivity was 35%.
Since the pandemic began, Wisconsin has seen 271,770 confirmed cases, more than 1.9 million negative tests and 2,329 deaths. DHS considers 210,318 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
As of Monday morning, there were four patients at the state’s alternate care facility at State Fair Park near Milwaukee.
While hospital numbers are expected to be updated later Monday afternoon, DHS says hospitals in Wisconsin are nearing capacity.
