GOODMAN, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Investigations are underway after two people died in Marinette County Friday evening.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice says the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 5 p.m. of a possible homicide at a home in Goodman.
Upon arrival, officers found a deceased male and the suspect, who fled the home by vehicle.
Officers then pursued the suspect, who later stopped the vehicle, got out and pointed a firearm at officers.
Officers shot the individual, who died of his injuries at the scene.
No officers were injured, and the involved Marinette County Sheriff’s Office personnel have been placed on administrative leave.
The incident was isolated, and the public is not at risk, according to the DOJ.
The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the first death as a homicide, and the DOJ is investigating the second death as on officer-involved shooting.
