MADISON, WI (WTAQ) — Today is another record-breaking day for new COVID-19 infections in Wisconsin, but it comes with an asterisk.
There were 4,591 new cases of COVID-19 reported by state officials on Tuesday, however that number includes cases from over the weekend, when the state reporting system was down for maintenance.
State officials expect the next few days to see similar numbers as officials catch up with cases that were missed.
There were 33 new deaths also reported.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 178,482 total cases, more than 1.7 million negative tests and 1,633 deaths.
