KAUKAUNA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Kaukauna unveiled a revitalized park with a ribbon cutting Thursday.
Fassbender Park now includes ampitheater-style seating for future small acoustical shows.
There is also a large cheese crock to pay homage to Hubert Fassbender, who founded Kaukauna cheese in 1918.
The Kaukauna High School civic engagement class raised over $75,000 for the project.

“Just going out in the community, and trying to it’s like that first step of being an adult was going and talking to businesses, trying to explain to them what we were doing, why we were doing it, and trying to get them on board, was one of the hardest things.”
There is also a statue of Electa Quinney.
In 1828, she opened the first school in the state that did not charge an enrollment fee.
