NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) — A new COVID-19 surge testing site is being set up at Thedacare Physicians-Neenah, and US Surgeon General Jerome Adams was on hand to announce it earlier today.
“It is a great way for us to understand who has the virus so that we can isolate people as appropriate, and so that we can quarantine as appropriate,” Adams told a small group gathered outside the center.
It comes amidst another record breaking COVID-19 report from state health officials: 3,861 new cases, or 26.5% of the 14,586 tests completed. That broke Thursday’s single-day record and was the third time this week the single-day record has been broken.
Adams says as many as 30-40% of people who are infected have no symptoms but can spread the virus to others.
Those who plan to get tested are asked to register at doineedacovid19test.com. Testing is free, with results expected in less than three days.
