ALGOMA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A body and vehicle were recovered from the Ahnapee River in Algoma Monday.
Algoma police say a call was received around 1:30 p.m. of a vehicle that drove off an Algoma Marina pier and into the river.
Crews were able to pull the body, a 34-year-old man, and the vehicle out of the river Monday evening.
Chief Randy Remiker tells FOX 11 surveillance footage shows the vehicle driving into a light poll and through other barriers before entering the river.
Remiker also says the incident appears to be intentional.
The man’s name was not released.
