WEYAUWEGA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Weyauwega-Fremont School District is considering a school mascot change.
The area’s high school mascot is the Indians.
That may soon be retired.
The consideration comes amid nationwide scrutiny over problematic depictions of minority groups.
The board plans to hold a community discussion at its next meeting.
