APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – The stretch of West Wisconsin Avenue in Appleton reaching eastbound from Casaloma Drive to Westhill Boulevard is closed due to a multi-vehicle crash this morning.
A handful of private vehicles sustained significant damage, including crushed front-ends and cracked windshields in the crash. A cement mixing truck received heavy damage as it overturned into the roadway. A heavy tow truck is on-scene to assist in removing the cement truck.
It remains unclear exactly what caused the crash. Crews at the scene declined to comment on the details – or whether any injuries were involved. State investigators are also expected to provide assistance.
The area is expected to remain closed for about two hours. More information will be released as it is made available.
