OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ) — The Regional COVID-19 Testing Site at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh is seeing long wait times.
Wait times stretched as long as four hours at the testing site on Monday–the busiest day yet for the site, which first started up in early September.
Driving the demand? One of the nation’s highest rates of virus activity. That, and the location.
“Anybody who needs a test or believes they need a test has found us,” Winnebago County Health Department Preparedness specialist Shelley Brown-Giebel told WTAQ. “We serve quite a big area, and there’s no other enduring site until you get to the Madison or Milwaukee area.”
Crews have worked as efficiently as possible to get through the large number of cars waiting in line on Monday. Registering ahead of time will speed up the process. You can sign up at https://register.covidconnect.wi.gov. The site is open until 6pm on weekdays.
