MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man upset about his recent firing could face multiple charges of making terrorist threats for the videos he posted on social media, threatening to kill his former co-workers – though he later said he didn’t plan on actually doing it.
Nathaniel Smith, 33, is expected have a bail hearing Monday afternoon. Formal charges have not been charged. Police requested five counts of making a terrorist threat, threats to law enforcement, and failure to comply with an officer’s attempt to take into custody.
According to the probable cause statement, Smith shared multiple videos and posts Friday, which included threats to those at Manitowoc Grey Iron Foundry. Among the comments he makes are “No one will survive am serious,” “If they’re going to steal my money, I will kill everyone,” and “This time, you pay with your lives.”
After his arrest, Smith stated “I was just venting, saying whatever the (expletive) came to my mind, dude. I wasn’t actually planning to do it,” the document states.
Police responded to his home, where Smith refused to come out, and he threatened officers. Once he was arrested, police searched his home, finding a handgun, rifle, and ammunition.
