MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Wisconsin Supreme Court heard arguments Monday in a Greenville church’s fight against the state Department of Transportation about a land purchase offer.
Christus Lutheran Church of Appleton challenged validity of the jurisdictional offer of $270,000 the DOT made for its property, arguing there was an insufficient nexus between the jurisdictional offer and the appraisal. An appeals court previously ruled in the church’s favor.
The DOT wants to acquire 5.867 acres of the church’s land along State Highway 15.
