DOOR COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Door County Medical Center is no longer allowing visitors as the coronavirus surges in Wisconsin.
Exceptions are being made for some patients who are allowed one support person each. The support person must not be ill and must not have any symptoms. They must also wear a mask at all times.
- Obstetrical patients may have one support person.
- Pediatric patients younger than 18 may have one parent or guardian present.
- Patients nearing end-of-life: special arrangements may be made with the family spokesperson.
- Patients having emergency surgery may have one support person.
- Patients seeking emergency care may have one support person who is required to be in the patient room at all times; extenuating circumstances will be evaluated.
At the clinic, one support person will be allowed only for those patients who need assistance. They must also follow the rules for symptoms and masking.
At the skilled nursing facility, no visitors are allowed. Prearranged courtyard visits and compassionate care visits will be allowed.
