STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Door County health officials say a surge in coronavirus cases in the area has exceeded its ability to test and investigate.
They say its contact tracing ability is significantly drained. The goal is to reach out to all confirmed cases within 24 hours of being reported to the health department but due to the rise in cases, tracers are days behind the goal.
At this time, health officials will no longer be calling individuals who are close contacts of a positive case.
Test results are also taking longer, up to 5-7 days.
