MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police arrested a woman on possible charges of making a terrorist threat for allegedly leaving racist notes on car windshields.
Cathleen Yauch, appeared in court Monday, and was released on signature bond. Her initial appearance is on Oct. 5, according to the clerk of courts office.
No charges have been filed.
According to the police affidavit, officers were dispatched to a department store on Sept. 11 after a shopper found a red tag labelled “federal (racial slur) hunting license” under the windshield wiper. A yellow tag with similar wording was found on another vehicle nearby.
After reviewing store security video, police identified Yauch as a suspect.
Police say she confessed to placing the notes on the windshields.
