ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – It’s going to be an unusual start to the Packers season – with no fans in the stands and no parking lot tailgates at Lambeau Field. But local businesses around the stadium are still prepared to help fans cheer on the Green and Gold.
It’s a straight shot from Stadium View Bar and Grill to Lambeau’s Oneida Nation Gate. Stadium View employees can’t stop talking about the return of Packers football this Sunday – even though they’re not completely sure what to expect.
“I feel like it kind of ran up on us very quickly, shockingly – considering we didn’t have preseason. But we’re all nervous and excited. It’s pretty neat,” said Stadium View Owner Amanda Watson. “It’s really just been meetings after meetings and trying to figure out where we go with the season and what to expect, so we’re just going to go all out and hope for the best.”
Watson hopes their beer garden area with retractable garage doors leading to an outdoor patio could help with the comfort level for some people amid the pandemic.
“Obviously, we didn’t anticipate the pandemic,” Watson said. “We did anticipate people getting really excited about being outdoors, and there’s not that many large patio spaces in Green Bay and Ashwaubenon. So we wanted to bring that out for our community and have something different for everyone.”
The Packers kick off the season at noon on Sunday in Minnesota.
