MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man with a rare, terminal, genetic disease had a final wish granted Monday.
29-year-old Danny Kochan had the red carpet rolled out for him at the AMC Theater in Manitowoc.
His wish was to see a movie.
Since he’s a big comic book fan, the theater ran a special showing of “The New Mutants.”
Danny is in hospice care.
A hospice spokeswoman tells FOX 11 that they jumped into action when Danny told them about his wish.
“Hospice is so much more than just meeting the needs of the physical,” Charmaine Conrad, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Communications Director said. “It’s so much more about living with dignity and that compassionate care, and so, we were so excited our team came together.”
The average life expectancy for people with Danny’s condition is about their early 20’s.
