MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – One Manitowoc County hospital is getting new contactless temperature screening kiosks.
Holy Family Memorial installed the devices Monday.
The kiosks can check someone’s temperatures in just a few seconds and indicate if they have a fever.
The devices also serve as a visible reminder of the importance of COVID-19 safety.
“The number of temperatures we had to take was bottle necking us at our entrance points,” Holy Family Memorial Chief Nursing Officer Tom Veeser said. “So we purchased three of them that allow us to do two things: get the temperature without actually having to touch somebody and clean the device between each patient, as well as validate if people were, or were not, wearing a mask.”
The hospital is one of the first businesses in Manitowoc County to install the devices.
