(METRO) – Justin Smoak hit a two-run homer and knocked in three as the Brewers turned back the Reds 4-2 in Milwaukee.
Omar Narvaez also homered for the Brew Crew, which built a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning.
Smoak said it felt good to open the home stand with a win.
Brett Anderson pitched six-plus innings of two-run ball for the win and Josh Hader notched his sixth save. Milwaukee snapped a four-game skid.
Brewers manager Craig Counsell said the double plays they turned behind Anderson helped a lot.
Trevor Bauer suffered his first loss for Cincinnati to fall to 3-and-1.
Curt Casali and Eugenio Suarez hit solo homers for the Reds, who lost their third in-a-row.
