HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – An annual motorcycle ride continues to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients in the area.
The Jerry Parins “Cruise for Cancer” raised more than $152,000 for 10 different cancer organizations over the past year.
They presented those organizations the checks Wednesday.
Parins tells FOX 11 more than $2 million has been raised and donated to local cancer organizations over the event’s 16 years.
“Over the last 10 years, it’s been pretty much the same group of people. Obviously, the big money is going to the hospitals, and that’s Bellin and St. Vincent’s and the Child Life and their satellite centers, where it’s really needed because they have an oversee of all the cancer going on in our community.”
This year’s Cruise for Cancer ride will take place August 23rd.
With the help of Green Bay Police and Fire Departments, it will instead be a parade ride this year.
