GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Baseball is officially back, the first major sport to kick off since the COVID-19 Pandemic suspended leagues across the country.
The Milwaukee Brewers took on the Chicago Cubs on the road yesterday. Austin Krueger of Green Bay said, he’s been waiting.
Krueger said, “since the end of March when it was supposed to happen. It just feels good to see our team back on TV.”
It’s like Christmas in July for fans like Patrick Boomer.
“It’s been really difficult being a sports fan with nothing on, and now it’s going to be all kinds of stuff going on at once,” Booomer said, “just getting back to some normalcy, that’s going to be a good thing for everybody.”
Fans who are not allowed to fill up stadiums this year… filled up Stadium View bar and grill instead.
Larry Kittoe of Green Bay said, “this is my stomping grounds so very nice comfortable spot to watch and enjoy the game so I mean I don’t have to move and all the TVs are around me I don’t have to move. Nice setup.”
A travel softball team from Plover even went ahead and set up their own tailgates and enjoyed the game with close friends.
