GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man charged with trying to hire someone to kill his sexual assault victim and her mother pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault charges Monday.
Laene Piontek is charged with two counts of solicitation of first-degree intentional homicide, in addition to the four sexual assault charges. No trial date was set for the sexual assault case. Piontek returns to court Sept. 25 for a pre-trial conference.
Piontek allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl over the course of several years, according to the complaint in that case.
A jail inmate told police Piontek offered him $20,000 for the murders, and wanted it to look like an accident. Piontek gave descriptions of the two, as well as making diagrams of their residence, according to the criminal complaint. In the murder-for-hire case, arraignment is scheduled for July 27.
