FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – A 5-year-old boy is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Lakeside Park.
Fond du Lac Police officers and Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the west side of the park near Howard Litscher Drive around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday night for a report of the child being hit by a vehicle in a parking lot north of the boat launch area.
Responding officers immediately began life saving measures on the child and a Flight for Life helicopter was requested to start responding. Paramedics continued life saving measures and took the child to St. Agnes Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The incident remains under active investigation. Entry to Lakeside Park West was restricted while investigators reconstruct the scene. No additional details are available at this time.
