MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The state’s positive COVID-19 rate remains high, one day after the state reported its highest single-day number of infections yet.
On Sunday, the state had 4,996 total test results gathered with 522 of those being positive according to the state department of health services.
The 522 positive cases represents 10.4% of the test results gathered on Sunday, the second straight day of positive results accounting for over 10% of the daily test results.
Sunday’s number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is down from Saturday’s record breaking total of 738 positive results.
No new deaths were reported by the state DHS on Sunday, as Wisconsin sits at 796 total deaths for the third straight day.
Since the pandemic began, the state has now had a total of 615,688 people tested, 31,577 positive cases, and 584,111 negative test results.
The state is reporting that as of Sunday there have been 24,899 recoveries and 5,877 cases are active.
Hospitals throughout the state are reporting that 2,732 of the 11,390 total beds are immediately available.
There are 244 COVID-19 patients receiving hospital care with 65 in the ICU.
There is a supply of 1,259 ventilators in Wisconsin with 276 in use.
