MADISON (WTAQ-WLUK)– The state health department’s COVID-19 update shows that 738 test results came back positive on Saturday, the most positive results reported in a single day.
The previous record was set on May 29th, the only other day more than 700 positive test results were reported in one day in Wisconsin, with 733.
Just 6,822 test results were reported by DHS on Saturday as the positive results account for 10.8% of Saturday’s results.
Both the number of positive cases and percentage of positive cases are up from Friday, which had 579 positive cases that accounted for only 5.7% of the days results.
The 6,822 total results from Saturday is down from Friday’s 10,186 total results.
No new COVID-19 deaths are being reported by DHS. The total COVID-19 deaths in the state is 796.
Since the pandemic began, there has been a total of 610,692 people tested, 31,055 positive cases, and 579,637 negative results.
State health officials are reporting that as of Friday, July 3, a total of 24,491 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the new virus.
There are 5,763 active cases of COVID-19 as of Friday.
Wisconsin hospitals are reporting that of the 11,386 hospital beds, 2,951 are immediately available.
There are 235 COVID-19 patients receiving hospital care statewide with 67 in intensive care units.
The state has a supply of 1,255 ventilators and 276 are in use.
