GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Despite the flag industry taking a big hit during the COVID-19 Pandemic, things are starting to pick back up.
Stacey Stewart owns Fly Me Flag in Green Bay and while Memorial Day sales were slow, things have started to pick back up again for Independence Day.
“Well every year is a little bit different, but this year, we are seeing customers that are concerned about what’s going on and want to show their patriotism,” Stewart told WTAQ. “As we’ve reopened, we’ve seen our customers return to us.”
Stewart says she’s proud to live in a community that supports small businesses like hers.
“It’s just so important for everybody to support local businesses right now,” said Stewart. “Small business owners are struggling.”
According to an April Survey, around a third of all Wisconsin businesses had threatened to shut down if the pandemic closures had continued.
