GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Green Bay’s parks committee was able to decide Wednesday night to keep moving forward with opening the city’s pools and sports leagues.
However, it appears only one of the city’s three pools will be able to open this summer.
Two weeks ago, the city released reopening plans. It revisted the topic after the Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommended keeping pools and sports leagues closed this summer.
Dan Ditscheit, the city’s parks director, tells FOX 11 the Joannes and Resch Aquatic Centers likely won’t open at all.
“We’re having a hard time even finding the staff to even open Colburn at this point, so I would say it is very unlikely and probably impossible to open our other two pools at this point.”
City staff says it will also likely only be Green Bay residents allowed at Colburn Pool.
