APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — The man accused of killing his two children in Kaukauna back in February was among a pair of homicide suspects who attempted to escape the Outagamie County Jail on Sunday night.
The Outgamie County Sheriff’s Office reports that at around 10:30 pm on Sunday, Matthew Beyer and Demetrius Williams attempted to escape the jail after one of them threatened a correction’s officer with an improvised weapon and attempted to have her release the other inmate from their cell.
The officer managed to end the situation due to quick thinking, according to sheriff’s deputies.
The inmates were not able to leave their immediate cell block area and several more layers of security would have prevented their escape, according to the department.
Beyer is due in court Wednesday. He’s charged with killing his biological children, 5-year-old William and 3-year-old Danielle Beyer on February 17th. He was arrested last week.
Williams is charged with the February 27th killing of 3-year-old Zyana Corbin, who he allegedly stabbed to death. Corbin’s mother was also attacked in the incident.
