GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – While ‘safer at home’ orders are still in effect in Wisconsin, area hospitals and clinics are starting to look at bringing back some services and steps to keep staff and patients safe.
Bellin Health Systems is taking steps to bring back non-elective surgeries and other out-patient services.
Kathy Kerscher is Bellin’s V-P of Primary Care….
“Looking at those on a case by case basis.”
Respiratory cases have their own facilities so patients who come in with those issues are taken to designated facilities. Kerscher says clinics and urgent care offices are open for regular appointments.
“We’re asking patients to wear their cloth masks when they’re coming into the building.”
She says it’s been a learning process and gives a lot of the credit the community with following medical recommendations to get us to the point.
“We have our pockets of industries that have increased, but we have all those precautions and healthcare systems working together.”
Kerscher says all of that Bellin ready to handle everything from the COVID 19 pandemic, to broken legs, to bloody noses.
