GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — There are now 53 total cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus in Brown County and the Oneida Nation.
That’s seven more than on Tuesday.
The Brown County Health Department’s Ted Shove says they’re not sure where the majority of COVID-19 patients in Brown County acquired the virus.
“All of the new cases from this week are basically considered community spread,” said Shove.
Shove says it’s possible that spread was made worse during Tuesday’s election, and is watching for a possible spike in cases as a result.
“We basically had…a mass gathering,” Shove told reporters. “There is concern among public health that we might see a spike.”
13 cases are out of isolation in the county, meaning they haven’t had a fever in 72 hours, their symptoms are reducing, and it’s been at least seven days since their symptoms first appeared. Shove says officials aren’t using the term “recovered” due to a lack of clarity and conflicting definitions of the term.
